Did you know:
"Back in the old days, January 8, 1927, to be exact, a basketball game was  played at the monstrous George Washington University gym. The walls were  of corrugated sheet metal, the floor of some substance that added three inches of bounce to the ball. The teams were Gallaudet and GWU. Gallaudet’s team was fondly called the BCD team because of Tom Bilger, Del Cosgrove and Lou Dyer, who practically were 97% of the team. Halftime found the score Gallaudet 21-GWU 17. After intermission, GWU started to work on the BCD Boys. Bilger, then Cosgrove, then Dyer were treated to some famous Civil War roughness by the GWU Colonials. The Gallaudet rooters took exception to the roughing the BCD Boys were receiving and showed their displeasure by pounding on the walls. The din was so deafening that the GWU officials protested. ”Stop thoroughness and the deaf students will stop the noise”, was the  answer. The game ended with Gallaudet winning 37-33. The two teams have not met since”. (Deaf Digest Sports, 2012)
