Played two seasons as a key member of the Gallaudet University men’s basketball program in the late 1980’s. The NCAA Division I transfer from Southern Illinois University made an immediate impact with the Bison as he quickly netted 1,000 points in two seasons. He was the team’s Most Valuable Player both seasons at Kendall Green. He scored his 1,000th career point against cross-town rival Catholic University of America. He was named the 1987 Gallaudet Bison Player of the Year his senior year. He concluded his career with 1,074 points. He helped to turn around a Bison program that posted a 1-19 record the year before he arrived. In two seasons, Gallaudet went 31-22. He also played football at GU as a punter. Hamilton served as an assistant GU basketball coach in 1990.
