Greene named the 2026 ECAC D3 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2025-26 Division III Women's Basketball All-ECAC teams and major award winners and Gallaudet University had one student-athlete selected as an award winner. First-year forward/center Natalie Greene (Houston, Texas) was selected as the 2026 ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year.

Greene recently took home United East Rookie of the Year honors and earned a spot on the all-conference second team. She earned United East Offensive Player of the Week honors back on Dec. 22, 2025. Greene was limited to 17 games (16 starts) but her per game averages for many statistical categories has her ranked in the Top 10 in the United East. Greene is third in rebounds per game (9.4) and offensive rebounds per game (4.4). She finished the season with 289 points with a 17.0 scoring average per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.

Gallaudet has earned six All-ECAC honors over the years and now increase its total for major award winners from one to two. All-ECAC honorees include Cam Lexow (2024-25 - Second Team), Cassidy Perry (2022-23 - Second Team, 2023-24 - First Team), Lindsay Stergio (2013-14 Upstate Region - Second Team) and Easter Fa'afiti (2009-10, 2010-11 South Region - First Team). Fa'afiti was picked the 2010-11 ECAC Division III South Player of the Year.

Greene is the only honoree from the United East to be selected for a major award or on either All-ECAC team for the 2025-26 season.

Hunter College senior guard Alexa Charles was named ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first team. William Paternson head coach Erin Monahan was tabbed as the ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Coach of the Year as USMMA posted an impressive 25-3 overall record and an 18-0 mark in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play. The Pioneers lost its conference championship but still earned an at-large bid into the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.

Student-athletes are nominated by their Athletic Communications/Sports Information Directors to the ECAC to be eligible to be selected to the All-ECAC teams.
