WASHINGTON - The College Sports Communicators announced its 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams and Gallaudet University landed four student-athletes on the Division III team.
GU's honorees include seniors
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.),
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) and juniors
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) and
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.).
This is the third straight year on the CSC Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team for Gamble and Lummer while this is Worley's second appearance and Zarembka's first.
Worley, a business administration major, had the highest grade point average (3.98) among the group of four at Gallaudet, the world's only university with programs and services specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. The other grade point averages are as follows; Gamble (Physical Education and Recreation - 3.95), Lummer (Physical Education and Recreation - 3.81) and Zarembka (Accounting - 3.63).
There are 22 representatives from a United East Conference program as eight teams were represented. Cairn University, Gallaudet, Penn St.-Brandywine and St. Mary's College of Maryland led the way with four honorees each. Schools were limited to only four nominations for this sport.
Gallaudet now has 18 CSC Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team honors in program history.
The Bison have four CSC Academic All-America® Women's Volleyball Team selections in Worley (2024 - Third Team), Gamble (2023 - First Team),
Cassidy Perry (2023 - Third Team) and
Ann Whited (2012 - Third Team). Whited was the first female in Gallaudet history to earn CSC Academic All-America® honors.
Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by current dues-paying CSC members and must meet high academic and athletic standards. Eligible nominees will receive Academic All-District recognition.
The title Academic All-American is reserved for student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their sport and in the classroom. Gamble and Worley were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and have been added to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. The Bison duo are the only United East selections on the national ballot.
To be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by their athletic communicator/sports information director.
