LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Oct. 20 and Gallaudet University junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) was named the Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
Worley had a strong week from the outside hitter position where she tallied 43 kills on 88 swings and only seven errors for a .409 hitting percentage in three matches. Worley added 22 digs, five service aces, three assists and three blocks as GU went 3-0 against Valley Forge, DeSales and Penn St.-Berks. Worley leads NCAA Division III in kills (402) and points (459) while she is ranked in the Top 5 for attacks (938) and kills per set (4.84) and points per set (5.53).
Penn St.-Abington sophomore Fabiola Medina was named the United East Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after averaged 4.56 digs per set to go along with nine aces in three games.
GU HONORS
This is Gallaudet's eighth United East Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors this season. This is the ninth United East weekly honor for Worley in their volleyball career.
