SALEM, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Joe LaRocco Invitational hosted by Roanoke College here Saturday. There were no team scores at this meet.
Sophomore
Olivia Armstrong (Rotterdam, N.Y.) placed 31st overall in the 1-mile run with a time of 7:14.46, which was 12 seconds faster from last weekend's meet at Ursinus College. First year
Jala Furdge (Brandon, Miss.) was just behind in 33rd place and set a personal best time of 7:18.74, which is 10 seconds faster from a week ago.
First year
Brooke Carter (Christiansburg, Va.) finished 38th in the 200-meter dash with a new personal best time of 31.01 seconds, which is over two seconds faster from last week.
Carter took 31st in the 60-meter preliminaries when she crossed the finish line in 9.15 seconds. First year
Tori Cushshon (St. Louis, Mo.) set a personal best time in the 60-meter dash when she was clocked at 11.23 seconds in 35th place.
Over in the throwing events, Cushshon finished 22nd in the shot put with a top toss of 8.41 meters (27 feet, 7.25 inches).

The Gallaudet women's team will next compete at the United East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, Feb. 27, in Landover, Md., at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
