WINCHESTER, Va. – A small contingent of runners and throwers from the Gallaudet University women's indoor track and field team traveled west to Shenandoah University on Sunday to compete in the Holiday Kickoff Open.
A trio of Bison ran in the 1-mile run that consisted of 11 runners. Sophomore
Olivia Armstrong (Rotterdam, N.Y.) led the way with a ninth-place finish and a time of seven minutes and 18.70 seconds. First year
Jala Furdge (Brandon, Miss.) was the next Bison to finish in 10th (7:32.56) while fellow first year
Ashley Morales-Juan (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was 11th (7:47.03).
Over in the field, a pair of Bison threw in the shot put event. First year
DeeDee Grant (Peoria, Ill.) was 16th with a top toss of 5.65 meters. First year
Sara Duncan (Mesa, Ariz.) finished 17th with a best throw of 4.88 meters.
Dickinson College won the meet with 118 team points to edge out Richard Bland College (113) and University of Lynchburg was a distant third (85) among the nine teams that posted a team score. The Bison didn't earn a team score in the meet.

This was the only indoor track and field meet for the month of December. Gallaudet will next compete at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic hosted by The Catholic University of America on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, in Landover, Md., at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
