Gallaudet’s Cam Lexow repeats as United East Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Jan. 20 and Gallaudet University sophomore guard/forward Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) was named Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for a second time this season. This is the second consecutive week Lexow has earned a United East Women's Basketball Player of the Week award.

Lexow totaled 26 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, seven blocks and five steals as GU went 2-0 for the week and have won five straight. Lexow's seven blocks on the week extend her league-leading total to 44 blocks on the season with a 2.6 per game average: good for seventh in NCAA Division III. The five steals also brought the season-long total to 61 steals, best in the United East and fourth in the country. Lexow is fifth in the league with a 16.6 points per game average and third in the league with 283 total points while shooting 48.4 percent from the field.

St. Mary (Md.) freshman forward Kiera Mason was tabbed the Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for a second straight week. 

GU HONORS
This is Gallaudet's third United East Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season. This is Lexow's third United East Player of the Week award this season and fourth in her women's basketball career. Also see:
