LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards for Nov. 25 and Gallaudet University sophomore guard/forward Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) was named Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Lexow had a solid week for GU, who posted a 2-1 record. She finished the week with 50 points, 25 rebounds, 16 steals, 13 assists and eight blocked shots. Lexow scored a season-high 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field (including two 3-pointers) in a home win over Russell Sage College last Friday. In that game, Lexow made four blocks, seven steals, passed out four assists and grabbed nine rebounds. Lexow just missed out on double-doubles in GU's two home wins over Trinity Washington University (14 pts., 9 rebs.) and Russell Sage (24 pts., 9 rebs.).
Penn State Harrisburg graduate forward Jordan Carpenter was tabbed the Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
GU HONORS
This is Gallaudet's first United East Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season. This is Lexow's first United East Player of the Week award this season and second in her women's basketball career.
