Box Score READING, Pa. - It was defense, all the time, for the Gallaudet University women's soccer team here Saturday afternoon against Penn St.-Berks in a United East Conference - Volt Division game. The Bison were held to no shots against the pesky Nittany Lions, who won 13-0, in 70 minutes played.
Gallaudet (3-5, 0-2 Volt Division) was overwhelmed as Penn St.-Berks (3-5-1, 0-1 Volt) used a deep bench (14 players) to keep fresh legs and continue to press the Bison goal. The Nittany Lions scored a flury of four goals in a four-minute window to take an early 5-0 lead. Penn St.-Berks led 9-0 at the break and added four more in the second half.
The Nittany Lions finished with a 33-0 edge in shots and took six corner kicks. Midfielder Diana Pon (three goals) finished with a hat trick and added one assist to lead Penn St.-Berks.
