Box Score WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University junior Payton DeGraw (Salt Lake City, Utah) scored two second half goals here Friday night but it wasn't enough as the Bison dropped their season opener to Notre Dame of Maryland University, 6-2.
Gallaudet (0-1) recorded five shots in the second half against the Gators (1-0). DeGraw, who started the game in goal, moved to forward in the 67th minute and made an immediate impact. DeGraw scored her first goal of the season at the 76:06 mark off an assist from freshman midfielder Jayda Norris (Grand Terrace, Calif.).
Four minutes later, DeGraw netted a second goal on a fast break as sophomore midfielder Reza Mosher (Danville, Calif.) assisted.
Notre Dame was paced by senior midfielder Sara Morales (three goals), who scored a hat trick, while sophomore midfielder Anna Chouldhary added a goal and two assists in the win.
DeGraw made seven saves in net before sophomore Lilian Nelson (Minneapolis, Minn.) came in to play the final 23 minutes in net and made one save.
