Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team dropped a 9-0 decision to Bridgewater (Va.) College here Saturday afternoon.
This was the first time this season that Gallaudet (1-1-1) was shut out in a game.
Bridgewater (3-0-1) scored six times in the first half and added three more goals in the second half. The Eagles outshot the Bison, 24-7, and took five corner kicks to GU's three. Jack Leopold led the Eagles with two goals on three shots as eight different players scored a goal.
Sophomore Mamboh Smith (Silver Spring, Md.) led the Bison with four shots (one on goal). Senior AJ Markel (College Park, Md.) moved from defense to goalie to start the game and recorded three saves in 45 minutes of action. Freshman Vershon Carter (Chicago, Ill.) went into net to spell Markel in the second half and tallied four saves.
Bridgewater played four different players in net and combined to make three saves against the Bison.
