Bison fall to Seahawks on picturesque fall evening in Southern Maryland

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team traveled to Southern Maryland on Tuesday evening for a United East Conference game against St. Mary's College of Maryland at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. The Seahawks jumped out to a commanding first-half lead and defeated the Bison, 10-0, under the lights on a picturesque fall evening.

St. Mary's (6-8, 3-2 United East) scored six times in the opening 17 minutes and carried a 9-0 lead into halftime against Gallaudet (0-11, 0-5 United East). Zach Blaum and Matthew Kuwik scored two goals apiece during the early surge, while Tanner Bruce came off the bench to add two first-half goals of his own.

The Bison made a change in goal at halftime as first-year Donovan Schneck (Columbus, Ohio) took over for sophomore John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.). McCabe finished with five saves in the opening 45 minutes, while Schneck made two stops in the second half. Gallaudet limited the Seahawks to one second-half goal, which came in the 55th minute.

The Seahawks received goals from seven different players, along with one team goal, in the conference victory.
