WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's soccer program recognized three seniors Wednesday evening at Hotchkiss Field as the Bison celebrated Senior Night before their final home game of the 2026 season against Penn State Harrisburg. Team captain
Joe Bryan (Liberty, Mo.),
Gideon Nyame (Bismarck, N.D.) and
Sadam Mohamed (Dadaab, Kenya) were honored for their contributions to the program and their accomplishments on and off the field.
Penn State Harrisburg (7-7-2, 6-1-1 United East) defeated Gallaudet (0-13, 0-7 United East) in the United East Conference contest, 12-0. The Nittany Lions scored seven goals in the opening half and added five in the second, including two in the final 10 minutes after the outcome had long been decided.
Bryan, a four-year member of the program who served as team captain this season, led the senior class recognized during the pregame ceremony as he was joined by his parents. The veteran midfielder has been a steady presence for the Bison since arriving in 2023, appearing in 52 career games with 48 starts. Bryan concluded his home career having logged 4,128 minutes across four seasons (2023-26). He scored his lone collegiate goal during the 2024 season and earned United East Fall Scholar-Athlete honors in both 2024 and 2025. Bryan started all 13 games he appeared in this season and played 88 minutes in Wednesday's contest.
Nyame, a three-year member of the program (2023, 2025-26), appeared in 41 career games with 19 starts and accumulated 1,675 minutes on the field. The senior midfielder saw his role expand significantly this season, starting 12 of the 13 games he played while logging 881 minutes. Nyame was named a 2025 United East Fall Scholar-Athlete.
Mohamed, who played for the Bison during the 2024 and 2026 seasons, finished his collegiate career with 20 appearances, 15 starts, one assist and 1,265 minutes played. He earned United East Fall Scholar-Athlete recognition in 2024. Although Mohamed did not participate in Wednesday's game, he joined Bryan and Nyame for the pregame Senior Night ceremony and supported his teammates from the sideline.
Late in the second half, Gallaudet coach
Jay Shaw briefly substituted Bryan and Nyame out of the contest, allowing the two seniors to receive recognition from the Hotchkiss Field crowd in their final home appearance. Both returned to the pitch moments later and remained on the field through the final whistle.
Sophomore goalkeeper
John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) made four saves during the opening 45 minutes before first year
Donovan Schneck (Columbus, Ohio) took over in goal for the second half and recorded three saves. Junior defender
Eloi Straub (St. Paul, Minn.) registered Gallaudet's lone shot on goal in the 79th minute, but Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper Ethan Smith made the stop.
