ABINGTON, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team concluded a difficult 2026 season Saturday afternoon with a 12-0 United East Conference loss to first-place Penn St.-Abington at Memorial Field. The Bison finished the year winless at 0-14 overall and 0-8 in conference play.
Penn St.-Abington (10-4-4, 8-0 United East) scored twice in the opening nine minutes and built an 8-0 advantage by halftime. The Nittany Lions added four goals in the second half as the contest concluded after 75 minutes of play.
Gallaudet utilized two goalkeepers in the season finale. First year
Amine Hafid (Frederick, Md.) started in goal and recorded six saves during the opening 45 minutes. Sophomore
John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) moved from the field into the goal for the second half and made six saves over the final 30 minutes.
The Bison were unable to generate a shot against the United East's top team, while Liame Attis scored twice for the Nittany Lions, who received goals from 11 different players and finished with 48 shots (24 on goal).
Saturday's contest marked the final collegiate game for Gallaudet's three seniors, team captain
Joe Bryan (Liberty, Mo.),
Gideon Nyame (Bismarck, S.D.) and
Sadam Mohamed (Dadaab, Kenya), who did not participate in Saturday's contest. Bryan, a four-year member of the program, concluded his career with 53 games played and 49 starts, while Nyame finished his three seasons with 42 appearances and 20 starts. Mohamed saw action in 20 games with 15 starts over the course of two seasons.
GU struggled to find offensive consistency throughout the season, scoring four goals in 14 games while being held scoreless in 10 contests. Gallaudet scored just once in six October games, a goal by first year
Bruce Brewer Jr. (Santa Fe, N.M.) against Cairn University on Oct. 16.
Gallaudet's winless campaign followed a 1-13 season in 2025. The Bison will enter the 2027 season looking to snap a 21-game losing streak as the program continues its efforts to rebuild and develop for the future.
