Bison and Seahawks come together during Mental Health Awareness Week

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team dropped an 11-0 decision to St. Mary's College of Maryland in a United East Conference game here Wednesday evening at Hotchkiss Field during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Gallaudet (0-8, 0-4 United East) faced a tough task against St. Mary's (5-5-4, 4-1 United East) the first-place team in the conference. The Bison played defense the entire game as they were held without a shot for a third consecutive game.

GU sophomore goalie Lilian Nelson (Minneapolis, Minn.) made a career-high 26 saves with 16 coming in the first half. Nelson received an assist from her defense that made two team saves in the contest. 

St. Mary's had nine different goal scorers in the win led by starting defender Cicely Clark's two goals in the 57th and 72nd minutes of the game. The Seahawks continued to pour it on late with a goal in the 87th minute to push the game to an 11-goal margin. St. Mary's concluded the game with 59 shots and 15 corner kicks.
