Two goals in one minute swing game to Gallaudet, who celebrate first win of 2021

Box Score

WASHINGTON - One minute changed the entire women's soccer game between Gallaudet University and Trinity Washington University here Wednesday afternoon at Trinity Field.

Gallaudet trailed 2-1 at the start of the second half but the Bison scored back-to-back goals, within one minute, to regain the lead and momentum in the non-conference game. GU (1-5) held onto the 3-2 win, it's first of the 2021 season and first since Nov. 1, 2019 (the last season GU played before the COVID-19 pandemic).

The duo of freshmen Ashley Harlicker (Shenandoah, Texas) and Isabella Bucci (Hopedale, Mass.) connected on the two second-half goals for the Bison. Bucci assisted Harlicker on both goals. Harlicker's first collegiate goal came at the 48:49 mark on a high shot from 15 yards out to tie the game at 2-2. A minute later, Bucci sent a cross from the left corner to the middle of the Trinity goal area, where Harlicker headed home the game-winner at the 49:48 mark.

Harlicker had a busy day as she assisted on the game's first goal for Gallaudet in the eighth minute of the game. The Bison took their first corner kick of the game from the left corner of the field and lifted a pass that found sophomore Mia Marin (Woodland, Calif.), who scored on a high shot past Trinity goalie Emily Andino (seven saves).

Trinity (1-4) tied the game in the 12th minute on an unassisted goal from Kalyn Whiteheart to knot the game at one apiece. The Tigers took their first lead in the 31st minute when Karol Barahona-Bonilla scored off a deep shot from the far side of the field that hit the left goal post and deflected into the Bison goal.

Trinity took the one-goal lead into halftime up 2-1.
