Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was held scoreless here Saturday afternoon at Hotchkiss Field as the Bison lost 2-0 to Penn St.-Abington in a United East Conference game. This was GU's first home conference game this season.
Gallaudet (0-5, 0-3 United East) had several chances to get on the scoreboard in the second half as the Bison recorded three shots on goal. The Bison weren't able to get a shot past Nittany Lions goalie Madison McDowell (three saves), who logged over 67 minutes in net for the visitors.
It was McDowell that got Penn St.-Abington (3-3-1, 1-1 United East) on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute in the first half with a 35-yard blast that sailed over the head of Gallaudet sophomore goalie Payton DeGraw (Salt Lake City, Utah). After that goal, McDowell switched with starting goalie Mary Kate Smith (2-1-1).
The Nittany Lions added a second goal off a penalty shot at the 26:27 mark in the first half. Michaela Tommarello took the penalty shot and scored it past DeGraw (eight saves).

- GU was outshot 15-3 and only recorded one corner kick
- Freshman midfield/forward Isabella Bucci (Hopedale, Mass.) led the Bison with two shots on goal
