Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University men's soccer season came to a close here under the lights at Hotchkiss Field on a cold and brisk Friday evening against Marymount (Va.) University. The visiting Saints won the game 9-1.
Gallaudet (2-12) and Marymount (9-9-3) started a game back on October 25 but that 0-0 game was called with 33 minutes left due to heavy rain and lightning. The game couldn't be made up that same day so per NCAA rules the two teams had to play an entire new game today.
The Saints scored twice in the opening 20 minutes and added two more goals in the next nine minutes as they built a 4-0 lead as the teams went into halftime.
In the second half, Marymount continued to add to its lead with three more goals before Gallaudet got on the scoreboard.
Junior Shane Angel (Mechanicsville, Md.), who started in net for the Bison, moved to forward in the second half and scored his second goal of the season with a turnaround shot from 10 yards out at the 59:14 mark as GU trailed 7-1.
