ARLINGTON, Va. – Gallaudet University first-year defender
Donovan Schneck (Columbus, Ohio) stepped into goal and made 13 saves as the Bison men's soccer team fell to Marymount (Va.) University, 8-0, Tuesday night under the lights at Long Bridge Park.
Schneck, who normally plays defense, made his first collegiate start in goal after being called upon to fill the position following an injury to sophomore goalkeeper
John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) last Sunday. Schneck played all 90 minutes on Tuesday night and faced 59 Marymount shots, 21 of which were on goal.
Marymount (1-2-1) scored three times in the opening half before adding goals in the 53rd and 56th minutes to take a 5-0 advantage.
The Bison (0-3) kept the Saints off the scoreboard for the next 22 minutes before Marymount added a goal in the 79th minute and two more in a 33-second span late in the contest.
Gallaudet's best offensive opportunity came in the closing minutes. A Marymount foul set up a free kick for the Bison and junior
Hawkins Morgan (Whitesboro, Texas), who put GU's lone shot of the game on target in the 87th minute, but Saints goalkeeper Jacob Mudry made the save.
Marymount finished with a 59-1 advantage in shots and a 14-0 edge in corner kicks as they played 32 players (21 off the bench). Erick Shoetter-Rojas (one assist) and Michah Vogler scored two goals apiece for the Saints.

- Schneck's 13 saves marked his second straight game with nine or more saves after making nine against Pitt.-Bradford on Sunday.
- Gallaudet has recorded 46 goalkeeper saves through its first three games this season.
- Morgan's shot was his first of the season.
