Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Gallaudet University junior goalie Shane Angel (Mechanicsville, Md.) scored his first career goal in the 78th minute here Wednesday night in a 6-1 loss to regionally-ranked St. Mary's College of Maryland in a United East Conference game.
Angel, who grew up a half hour from St. Mary's College, converted on a penalty kick at the 78:06 mark as he beat Seahawks goalie Kevin Mejicanos to get the Bison on the scoreboard and avoid the shutout. Angel finished the game with four saves in 90 minutes played.
St. Mary's (11-5, 5-1 United East) scored two quick goals in the opening four minutes and added two additional goals as the Seahawks took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Gallaudet (2-9, 1-6 United East) surrendered an own goal and Noah Gregerman scored his fifth goal of the season in the 70th minute as the host led 6-0.
