Bison complete New York road trip with loss to Wells

Box Score

AURORA, N.Y. - There were no late-game heroics for Gallaudet University here Sunday as the visiting Bison lost to Wells College, 3-1, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) men's soccer game. The day before, GU defeated Keuka College with a goal in overtime to win, 1-0.

Gallaudet (1-11-1, 1-6 NEAC) splits its New York weekend road trip and will head home with four NEAC games left on its regular-season schedule.

Wells (5-9, 2-5 NEAC) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as the Express scored four minutes into the game.

Freshman forward Donald Ognane (Libreville, Gabon) scored Gallaudet's lone goal at the 21:40 mark to knot the game at 1-1.

The tie lasted just a minute as Wells' Mekhi Edge-Wallace (one goal, one assist) assisted Shane Syms on a goal past Bison goalie Shane Angel (Mechanicsville, Md.).

The Express took the one-goal lead, 2-1, into halftime.

In the second half, both teams tallied six shots but it was Wells that got one more shot into the back of the net. Justin Butler scored an unassisted goal with five minutes left.
