LANCASTER, Pa. – A second half rally fell short for the Gallaudet University men's soccer team as it dropped a 4-2 decision on the road Thursday to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Lancaster Bible College.

After falling behind 4-0 on a 55th minute goal by Chargers senior forward Sean Westerlund, the Bison began to mount a comeback. Gallaudet senior forward Jean-Pierre Kanashiro (Springfield, Va.) got the rally started in the 65th minute when he took an assist from senior forward James Rummo (Butler, N.J.) and deposited the ball into the back of the net for Gallaudet's first goal. Rummo kept the scoring going for the Bison just over one minute later when he took a rebound off of a corner kick and buried into the top left-hand corner of the Lancaster Bible net. It was his first goal of the season.

The Bison (2-11, 0-8 NEAC) fell behind early as the Chargers (3-10-3, 1-6-2 NEAC) scored three first-half goals. Junior midfielder Kevin Forsyth and sophomore forward Miles Herron scored in the ninth and 29th minutes, respectively. Westerlund also added a tally in the first half to go along with his goal in the second.

Gallaudet sophomore goalkeeper Eric Setzer (Middletown, Md.) recorded seven saves on the afternoon. Lancaster Bible badly outshot the Bison by a clip of 25-8. Gallaudet last defeated the Chargers on Oct. 9, 2004 in a home match that went into overtime. The Bison ultimately prevailed by a score of 2-1.

The Bison will next travel to Penn St.-Berks to take on the Nittany Lions in a NEAC contest on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m.
