Bison drop NEAC game to Wells

Box Score

AURORA, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team suffered another North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) defeat on the road Sunday as Wells College held the Bison scoreless in a 5-0 defeat.

The Bison (0-6, 0-3 NEAC) have dropped 16 straight games dating back to last season and have been shut out 10 times during that span. Gallaudet was handed a big blow on Saturday when freshman goalie Eric Setzer (Middletown, Md.) left the game early against Keuka with an injury and was without his services on Sunday.

Wells (6-4, 3-1 NEAC) got on the scoreboard 23 minutes in when Trevor Fahey crossed the ball to William Schanbacher (one goal, one assist) for the goal. The Express added a second goal, three minutes later, to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Wells had three different goal scorers find the back of the net past Bison goalie Jordan Ramser (Louisville, Ky.) in his first start of the season. He finished the game with 13 saves as Wells took 35 shots.

Gallaudet took four of its five shots in the first half. Junior forward Jean-Pierre Kanashiro (Springfield, Va.) took four shots with two shots on goal while freshman midfielder Gabriel Carino (New York, N.Y.) had the other shot for the Buff and Blue.

GU remains on the road this week when it travels to Pennsylvania on Thursday, September 29, to face Bryn Athyn College in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
