Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – A strong second half by the Gallaudet University women's soccer team was not enough Saturday on the road against Keuka College, the defending North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tournament champions, as the Storm won 3-0.
Gallaudet (0-6, 0-2 NEAC) took seven shots in the second half but five of them were stopped by Storm goalie Morgan Engelbert (six saves). The Bison were outshot 17-3 in the first half but closed the margin in the second, 13-7. Freshman midfielder Katie Benz (Stafford, Va.) led the Bison with three shots while sophomores Monique Balcarcel (Lansing, Mich.) and Britny Latham (Cleveland, Tenn.) both had two shots on goal against the Storm.
Senior goalie Casey McCullough (Oceanside, Calif.) had a busy day as she faced 23 shots and made 20 saves.
Keuka (2-2-1, 2-1-1 NEAC) scored twice in the first half as Nicole Sharick and Elly Disbrow both scored goals. Sarah Hillman added an unassisted goal in the second half.
The Bison will look to end their goal drought tomorrow (Sunday, September 25) against Wells College at 3 p.m.
