Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team was shut out Wednesday night, 4-0, by Marymount (Va.) University in a non-conference game. The Saints (3-4) scored two goals in each half to lead them to their third win of the season. GU (0-5) was shut out for the second straight game in defeat.
Katie Hamelin (two goals, one assist) scored back-to-back goals in a minute as her teammate Lauren Sanders assisted on both first half goals as the Saints led 2-0 at intermission. In the second half, Julie Fioramonti scored an unassisted goal in the 61st minute while Nicole Mercado netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Hamelin with 25 minutes left in the game.
Gallaudet was out shot 26-5 as the Saints took nine corner kicks to the five by the Bison. Senior goalie Casey McCullough (Oceanside, Calif.) made 10 saves in the loss. Junior midfielder Maddie Morgan (Hockessin, Del.) led all Bison with two shots.
The Bison hit the road this weekend to take on Keuka College on Saturday, September 24, at 1 p.m. in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game. GU then will face Wells College on Sunday, September 25, at 3 p.m.
