Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University women's soccer team didn't have an answer for Penn St.-Berks forward Lyndsay Naughton who scored a hat trick Friday night in the Lions 3-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) shutout over the Bison at Hotchkiss Field on Homecoming weekend.
Naughton scored her first goal seven minutes into the game off an assist from Karly Shaffert on a low shot to the left corner past Gallaudet senior goalie Casey McCullough (Oceanside, Calif.). The Lions (8-7-1, 7-3-1 NEAC) took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Gallaudet (2-12, 2-8) had several scoring opportunities in both halve as the Bison posted five shots total in the game. Freshman midfielder Katie Benz (Stafford, Va.) led the Bison with three shots. Berks held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks and tallied 29 shots in the game.
Naughton completed her hat trick in the 58th minute when she scored off a cross from Melissa Bennett.
