Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman midfielder Karlis Intsons (Riga, Latvia) scored his second goal in as many days but it was not enough to propel Gallaudet University past Morrisville State on the road Sunday as the Bison lost the North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer game 4-1.
Intsons scored on a fast break opportunity as he buried a 25-yard shot past Morrisville goalie Shane Sullivan (no saves) right before halftime as the teams went into the break tied 1-1.
GU (0-11, 0-7 NEAC) couldn't carry the momentum over to the second half as the Mustangs (3-7-3, 3-3-2) scored three second half goals to clinch the win. Sanley Pierre-Louis scored his second goal of the game seven minutes into the second half off an assist from Scott Morris. Morrisville added goals from Gilroy Alvarez and Joey Plummer in the 70th and 79th minutes, respectively.
Freshman goalie Eric Setzer (Middletown, Md.) made 15 saves and allowed three goals in 74 minutes of action. Sophomore goalie Jordan Ramser (Louisville, Ky.) finished out the game where he allowed one goal.
Morrisville outshot Gallaudet 37-5, 18-1 in the second half, and took nine corner kicks to GU's none.
The Bison hit the road Wednesday, October 19, to face Bryn Athyn at 4:30 p.m. in a make-up game from September 29 that was rained out.
