Box Score TAKOMA PARK, Md. – It was a long Friday
afternoon for the Gallaudet University men's soccer team as
the Bison dropped a 6-0 decision to the hands of Washington
Adventist University on the road. For the second time in eight days
the Bison (0-3) suffered a shutout against Washington Adventist
(3-2). GU lost the season opener 2-0 at home against WAU.
Washington Adventist scored two minutes into the game and
didn't look back as Jinmi Ismail (one goal, three assists)
scored the unassisted goal. Erik Gutierrez (two goals, one assist)
followed with back-to-back tallies. The final two goals of the
first half came off the feet of Victor Aquino and Aron
Christiansen. WAU led 5-0 at the half.
The final goal of the game came in the 52nd minute, when
Christiansen netted his second goal of the game.
WAU outshot Gallaudet 28-6, 16-2 in the first half, as the Bison
goalies combined to make 14 saves.
GU turns around and will hit the road tomorrow (Saturday,
September 11) with a trip to Southern Virginia University for a 2
p.m. non-conference game.
