Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. — The Gallaudet University
women's soccer team dropped an away match against Lancaster Bible
College on Thursday to the tune of 4-0. The game was held at
Charger Field in Lancaster, Pa., where the Chargers will host North
Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games as the conference's newest
member next year.
The Bison (6-9, 4-5 NEAC) were unable to connect on any of their
nine shots as Chargers goalie Emily Lloyd made seven saves to earn
the shutout. Lancaster Bible (12-5) forward Hannah Richard
scored two first half goals (10th and 34th minutes), which were
both assisted by Ally Brown. Kristina Clairmont also added
two assists in the match for the Chargers, the second of which came
on Whitney Heise's score in the 41st minute. Heise finished
the game with a game-high 11 shots, six of which were on goal.
Bison sophomore Maddie
Morgan (Hockessin, Del.) put pressure on the defense
with a team-high two shots on goal. Sophomore goalie Kara
Gulvas (Crown Point, Ind.) tallied 11 saves as she
allowed four shots to find the back of the net. However, the
Chargers' final goal, awarded to Brown, was inadvertently scored by
Gallaudet on a defensive cross in the box in the 50th minute.
Senior Virginia Keeler (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and
sophomore Maggie Hoyt (Edgecomb, Maine)
contributed two shots apiece.
