Bison drop tough 1-0 decision to Christendom

Box Score

FRONT ROYAL, Va.— The Gallaudet University's men's soccer team lost another tough game on the road Monday to Christendom College 1-0 at the Skyline Complex.  The game marked the second time in three games that the Bison defense did not let up a goal until the 35th minute or later.

Blaise Buckner scored an unassisted goal for Christendom (12-4) in the 40th minute of the contest. The goal proved to be all the Crusaders would need for the victory. Bison goalie junior Poloko Qobose (Gaborone, Botswana) took another tough loss but did a sensational job keeping the Crusaders to one goal as he made seven saves on eight shots on goal.  Freshman Abdul Al-Makura (Bassa, Nigeria) led the Bison (1-12) offense with two shots on goal but was unable to connect on either one.  GU's other shot on goal came from sophomore Justin Arrigo (Ewing, N.J.) but Crusader goalie Tim Vander Woude (three saves) pushed that strike away as well.

The Bison look to get back on track at home this weekend against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponents Morrisville State College (6-5-1, 2-2-1 NEAC) on Saturday, October 16, at 5 p.m. and Cazenovia College (2-7, 2-3 NEAC) on Sunday, October 17, at 2 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field.
