Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The final Capital Athletic
Conference season for the Gallaudet University women's soccer team
got underway on a perfect Sunday afternoon in Frederick, Md. The
Bison suffered their first shutout loss of the season as Hood
College collected a 10-0 victory.
Gallaudet (0-2, 0-1 CAC) recorded one shot in each half as the
Blazers jumped out to an 8-0 lead at halftime.
Freshman goalie Kara Gulvas recorded a career
and season-high 14 saves in 45 minutes of play against the Blazers
(2-1, 1-1 CAC). Junior goalie Casey McCullough
played the second half for the Buff and Blue as she faced eight
shots, made five saves and allowed two goals in 45 minutes of
action.
Hood was paced by forward Carlie Colella (two goals, two
assists) and midfielder Cara Jordan (two goals) as the Blazers had
eight different goal scorers.
The Blazers outshot the Bison 37-2 and took five more corner
kicks then GU, 7-2. Gallaudet received shots from senior defender
Brittainy Payne and freshman midfielder
Tiffany Narciso.
The Bison will join the North Eastern Athletic Conference next
season.
Gallaudet is off until next weekend when the Bison host their
first annual soccer tournament at Hotchkiss Field. The Bison will
start the two-day tournament off with a 5:30 p.m. game against
Valley Forge Christian College.
