More than halfway through the game the Gallaudet men's soccer
team looked like they were on their way to their first victory of
the season as they led Columbia Union 1-0, ten minutes into the
second half.
Columbia Union scored three goals in a 6 minute period of the
second half to take the lead and win the game 3-1. Gallaudet's goal
was scored by Dean Muszynski with 14 minutes remaining in the first
half when he took a pass and kicked the ball into the right corner
of the goal to give Gallaudet the lead they would hold for the next
25 minutes.
Gallaudet's defense was outstanding as they kept Columbia Union
away from the goal and forced them to take mostly long shots that
goalkeeper Poloko Qobose was able to stop with a dazzling number of
saves as he threw his body all aroound the net.
The first two second half goals by Columbia Union were scored
off corner kicks which allowed Columbia Union to get close to the
goal and take the lead.
Columbia Union goes to 9-4 on the season while Gallaudet is
0-10. Gallaudet next plays at home October 1 at 4 pm vs. York
College.
