ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Gallaudet University kicked off the 2026 men's outdoor track and field season here Saturday at the Seahawk Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland. No team scores were kept.
Junior thrower
Andrew Suarez (Fairview, Texas) had a standout performance, won two first-place finishers across three throwing events. Suarez won the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 40.35 meters and claimed first in the shot put with a top mark of 11.68 meters. He also placed third in the discus with a personal-best throw of 34.72 meters.
First-year
Sevan Ikeda (Fremont, Calif.) impressed in his outdoor debut, participated in three events. He captured first place in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:08.05, added a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:22.82), and placed ninth in the 800 meters (2:18.86).
Senior
Andrae' Green (Washington, D.C.) finished second in the triple jump with a top leap of 12.64 meters. He also participated in the 400 meters event and placed sixth with a time of 54.45 seconds.
First-year
Jason Alford (Dayton, Ohio) made his collegiate outdoor debut, placed fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.64 seconds and finished 13th in the 100-meter preliminaries at 12.65 seconds.
Sophomores
Joe Bryan (Liberty, Mo.) and
Mohamed Elsheikh (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) participated in the 800 meters run and finished 11th (2:26.20) and 12th (2:54.03) respectively.
First-year
Kendarrius Watkins participated in two throwing events; shot put and discus and finished sixth (10.11 meters) and seventh (29.29 meters) respectively.
First-year
Ibukunoluwa Oluoni competed in all three throwing events, placed sixth in the hammer throw with a top toss of 25.21 meters. Oluoni also finished 10th in the shot put (8.53 meters) and 14th in the discus (24.62 meters).

The Bison will rest for a week before returning to action next Saturday, April 11, when Gallaudet and Howard University co-host the Bison Classic at 9:30 a.m. at the Thomas O. Berg Track.
