WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University women's basketball celebrated its fourth straight win here Friday night with a 50-45 victory over Penn College of Technology in a United East Conference game.

Gallaudet (9-7, 7-2 United East) got off to a slow start against the Wildcats (4-12, 3-6 United East) as the visitors led 11-3 through the first eight minutes of play. GU slowly chipped away at the deficit and took a 19-18 lead into halftime. 

It was a close game throughout, especially in the second half, as GU outscored Penn College by three, 17-14, in the third quarter and 14-13 in the fourth quarter. 

Gallaudet sophomore forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) led the way as she recorded a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds to go with two blocks, one assist and one steal. Senior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) inched closer to 1,000 career points as she finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Beldon is now two points away from 1,000. Sophomore forward Malia Zornoza (Riverside, Calif.) totaled 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Sophomore guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) tallied six points, three assists and three steals.

Penn College junior forward Rachel Teats led the Wildcats with 18 points, six points, three assists and three steals.
