Gallaudet women's basketball receives special mention on WBCA Team Honor Roll

ATLANTA - Gallaudet University women's basketball team received a special mention in the 2025-26 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Team Honor Rolls.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point averages (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

This year's release also marks the fifth year in which all teams which qualified for the top 25 rankings with the minimum 3.0 GPA and nominated by a WBCA member head coach are recognized for their academic accomplishment with a special mention in their respective division.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 ranked teams we honor this year across all five collegiate membership divisions strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts."

Nebraska Wesleyan University posted the top team GPA in Division III with a 3.897 mark, they were followed by Hamline University (3.847), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.846), College of Saint Benedict (3.842) and St. Catherine University (3.826) round out the top five.

The Bison accumulated a 3.567 team GPA during the 2025-26 school year. GU was joined on the special mention list by four other United East Conference opponents in Cedar Crest College (3.700), Penn College (3.589), Penn State Harrisburg (3.573) and St. Mary's College of Maryland (3.401). Division III had 118 teams earn special mention this year.

This is the fifth consecutive season Head Coach Stephanie Stevens had the Bison listed on the WBCA Team Honor Roll Special Mention list.

Gallaudet has landed once on the WBCA Top 25 Team Honor Roll back in 2011-12 when the Bison were ranked No. 21 with a 3.461 GPA.
