Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team returned to the court for the first time in nearly a month here Friday night as the Bison played host to Wells College in a United East Conference game. GU started the New Year on the right foot as the Bison rolled the Express as they won, 71-30.
Gallaudet (4-6, 2-1 United East) led from start to finish over Wells. The Bison led 22-9 after the first quarter and took a 46-15 lead into halftime. The two teams played the third and fourth quarters closer.
Wells (0-11, 0-4 United East) has lost 44 straight games dating back to February 2019.
Sophomore forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) scored a game-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. Sophomore Malia Zornoza (Riverside, Calif.) came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points and ripped down nine boards and made three steals. This was Zornoza's first game action since November 20 when GU tipped off the season with a home game against Stockton. Freshman guard Crystal Salit (Boyds, Md.) was the third Bison in double figures with 10 points, six rebounds and four steals. Senior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) finished with six points, six rebounds, six steals and passed out a game-high nine assists.
Wells was led by forward Caroline Barr's 14-point game.
