Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team didn't have to travel far for Tuesday night's non-conference game against nearby The Catholic University of America over in the Brentwood neighborhood. The Bison went up against the 25th-ranked team in NCAA Division III and lost 81-57 in the DuFour Center.
Gallaudet (1-3) trailed 13-0 in the first several minutes of the game against Catholic (7-0). Sophomore forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) scored GU's first six points in the contest as the Bison were down 18-6. The Cardinals led 27-14 after the first quarter and took a 49-24 lead into the half.
In the second half, Catholic continued to increase its lead as the Cardinals pulled away from Gallaudet.
Perry led all-scorers with 21 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Senior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) added 13 points, five assists and two boards in the loss. Sophomore forward Serenity Fry (East Los Angeles, Calif.) came off the bench to score 10 points and grab six rebounds.
Catholic played 13 players off its bench as 18 Cardinals saw action in the game. Forward Amanda Johnson led the way with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.

Gallaudet begins conference play this weekend as the Bison hit the road for two United East games. The Bison start the trip on Friday, Dec. 3, at Penn College (0-5) for a 7 p.m. game.
