Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team began its 2021-22 season here Saturday afternoon in the Field House and lost 58-49 to Stockton University. It was Gallaudet's first women's basketball game since February 22, 2020, a span of 638 days.
The two teams battled tough throughout the contest. The visiting Ospreys led 10-9 after the first quarter and took a 28-18 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the two teams combined for 38 points in the third quarter as Stockton (1-0) led 48-36 heading into the final 10 minutes. The Bison (0-1) outscored the Ospreys by three points in the fourth quarter, 13-10.
Sophomore forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with 14 points, four rebounds and four steals. Freshmen forward Hannah Puent (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 12 points and Crystal Salit ( Boyds, Md.) netted 10 points.
Senior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) scored seven of her nine points from the free throw line to go with six rebounds and three assists.
Stockton guard Madison Larosa led the Ospreys with 21 points.
