Box Score WASHINGTON - It was a joyous celebration here Saturday evening for the Gallaudet University women's basketball team as it defeated SUNY Morrisville, 73-62, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Alumni Madness Day in the Field House before a crowd of 408.
Gallaudet (9-13, 7-6 NEAC) rocked throwback uniforms from several decades back, courtesy of Route 66 Promotions, and strutted in the new threads en route to victory. The Bison have won four of their last six games this month.
SUNY Morrisville (14-8, 10-3 NEAC) had its fourth lowest shooting performance this season as the Mustangs shot 30.2 percent from the field (26-for-86). The visitors launched 46 3-point shots but only made 10 for a dismal 21.7 percent.
Gallaudet led 18-17 after the first quarter and took a 39-35 lead into halftime. The Bison put the game away in the fourth quarter with 22 points.
Three different Bison tallied a double-double as GU crashed the boards and took advantage of the Mustangs' off-night shooting the basketball. Junior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) scored 18 points, 10 rebounds, passed out eight assists and made two steals. Fellow junior guard Kendall Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) tallied 14 points and 16 rebounds to go with three assists and two blocks. Freshman forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) recorded her 11th double-double with 14 points, 14 rebounds as she passed out three assists, made three steals and two blocks. Freshman guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) was GU's second-leading scorer with 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal.
The Mustangs were led by guards Alexis Campbell and Tori Rockefeller as the duo scored 26 and 21 points, respectively. Rockefeller became SUNY Morrisville's all-time leading scorer with her first 3-pointer in the third quarter to tally her 1,401st career point.

- Freshman guard Rajena Guettler (Frederick, Md.) tallied eight points, eight rebounds
- Freshman Ariel Senics (Fishers, Ind.) came off the bench to net two points and grabbed five boards
- Gallaudet grabbed a season-high 64 rebounds (52 on the defensive end)
- GU went to the free-throw line 24 times and 20 (83.3 percent)
- SUNY Morrisville did not have one free throw attempt, a season first
- GU had won two straight over the Mustangs
- This was SUNY Morrisville's first appearance in the Field House since Feb. 1, 2016

GU remains at home and will play host to Penn College (5-16, 2-11 NEAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the season. Before the game the Bison will play tribute to its senior class on Senior Night. The Bison will be wearing pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness. Fans are encourage to wear pink as well to show their support.
