READING, Pa. - Gallaudet University led for the majority of Saturday's road contest at Penn St.-Berks but the host Nittany Lions rallied in the second half to win, 71-61, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) women's basketball game.

Gallaudet (4-9, 2-3 NEAC) led by as much as 11 points, 30-19, midway through the second quarter and took a 33-28 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Penn St.-Berks (7-6, 3-2 NEAC) chipped away at the GU lead. The Bison increased its lead back to 11 points, 41-30, before the Nittany Lions took control. PSB went on a 12-2 run to cut the Gallaudet lead to one, 43-42, at the 2:22 mark in the third quarter. The Nittany Lions took their first lead, since early in the game, with a layup at the end of the third quarter. 

Penn St.-Berks outscored Gallaudet, 25-16, in the fourth quarter to secure its seventh win of the season and third conference win.

Freshman guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) scored 11 of her career-high 24 points in the first quarter as she made 5 of 5 shots from the field. Junior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) finished with 15 points, seven assists and six steals. Freshman forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) finished with a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Penn St.-Berks had four players in double-digits led by guard Kylie Herman who finished with 21 points and six boards.
