Box Score READING, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team dropped a tough 78-67 decision on the road Saturday to the hands of Penn St.-Berks in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
Gallaudet (6-11, 4-5 NEAC) held a 13-point lead in the third quarter as the Bison took a 39-33 lead into halftime.
Penn St.-Berks responded and started to chip away at the lead. In the closing seconds of the third quarter, the Nittany Lions began a 13-0 run which would push the host back into the lead at 66-58 with under five minutes left.
Gallaudet was outscored 23-9 in the decisive fourth quarter.
Junior Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to go with three assists and two steals. Senior forward Kelsey Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) grabbed the game-high 12 rebounds while junior Kelli Barnes (Cliffside, N.C.) and freshman Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) scored 11 and 10 points each, respectively.
Penn St.-Berks (5-8, 3-5 NEAC) was led by freshman guard Jennifer Martin's game-high 21 points, five rebounds and five assists while Kylie Herman chipped in 20 points in the win.
