BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – A stingy defense and big second half comeback lifted the Gallaudet University women's basketball team to a 55-49 road win over Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon. The victory lifts the Bison to 5-5 on the year and 3-1 in NEAC play.

Bryn Athyn (2-6, 1-2 NEAC) held a slim two-point lead after 10 minutes of play but a 16-10 advantage in the second put the Lions up by eight at the break, 34-26. The lead for Bryn Athyn was built on defense as they limited the Bison to 15.4 percent from the field in the second quarter.

Gallaudet (5-5, 3-1 NEAC) then found its defense in the second half as they outscored the Lions 10-3 in the third quarter and finished the comeback with a 19-12 edge in the fourth to win by six.

The Bison were led in scoring by junior Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) with 19 points as she played all 40 minutes while freshman Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) matched her by playing the entire game, finishing with 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Senior forward Kelsey Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) had a team-best eight rebounds in the victory.

The Lions were paced by 14 points each from Allie Warren and Zeniyah Sanders while Clayshonia Cogmom matched Sanders with 11 rebounds.
