Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Gallaudet University ran into a buzz saw Thursday night on the road as the women's basketball team lost, 91-55, to Randolph-Macon College at Crenshaw Gymnasium.
Randolph-Macon (10-2), who won seven games to start the season, jumped all over the Bison (6-5) late in the first half and went on a 31-9 run en route to a 47-24 lead at intermission.
The Yellow Jackets used a 20-1 run in the second half to take a 46-point lead, 80-34, with 10:14 left in regulation.
GU was outscored 44-31 in the second half. Senior forward Lindsay Stergio (Montville, Conn.) scored 14 of her team best 20 points in the second half. She grabbed seven rebounds and passed out three assists. Junior forward Lane Peters (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded a double-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds to go with two blocks, two steals and two assists. Senior guard Stephanie Weiss (Wellington, Fla.) matched Peters with 11 rebounds.
Junior forward Taylor Huber came off the bench to net a game-high 30 points to lead Randolph-Macon. Sarah Parsons added 21 points, six rebounds and four assists while Katie Anderson poured in 19 points.
The Bison will look to bounce back on Saturday, Jan. 11, with a home game against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Keuka College (3-5, 3-1 NEAC) at 3 p.m. GU is tied for first place in the NEAC South Division with a 3-0 mark with Lancaster Bible College.
