Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team concluded its California trip with a 70-32 setback against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday night at the California School for the Deaf-Fremont.
The Bison (2-7) trailed in the first half 41-15 and were outscored 29-17 in the second half. Senior forward Lindsay Stergio (Montville, Conn.) led the Bison with 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Alexa Justus (Forks, Wash.) was the second leading scorer with eight points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in defeat.
Claremont (4-8) was led offensively by guard Madeline Barnes who scored a game-high 13 points to go with three assists and three steals. Forward Kyra Ray added 12 points and Shelby Barthold chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
The Bison return home to jump back into North Eastern Athletic Conference play against Cazenovia College on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m.
