Gallaudet tripped up by the Gophers

TOWSON, Md. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team dropped its fourth straight game as the Bison lost 62-35 on the road Saturday evening against Goucher College in a non-conference game.

Gallaudet (2-4) was led offensively by sophomore guard Claire Tucker (Middletown, Md.) and freshman Danielle Warren (San Jose, Calif.), who both scored six points apiece in the loss.

Goucher (3-5) led 33-15 in the first half and finished the game shooting 44.3 percent from the field. Latifah Butler scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and seven steals to go with two blocks.

The Bison held an edge in bench scoring points, 21-6, while the Gophers scored 28 points off 33 turnovers committed by GU. The Bison scored the game's first two buckets before Goucher went on an 11-2 run to take the lead for good.

Gallaudet is off until the end of the month when the Bison will travel to California to play three non-conference game. The first game will be against Whittier College on Dec. 29 followed by a game on Dec. 30 against Williams College at Whittier, Calif. The Bison concluded the trip with a game at the California School for the Deaf-Fremont against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Jan. 2.
