Facing the nation's 24th ranked team proved to be a tough test
today as Gallaudet fell 75-32 versus Mary Washington.
Gallaudet's Nukeitra Hayes scored
12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and had two blocks in the losing
effort, against the Capital Athletic Conference's top defense.
Gallaudet Head Coach Kevin
Cook is working to bring Gallaudet to Mary Washington's
level. After the game he said, "Mary Washington is a strong
and very deep team. Their 11 and 12 players play hard and with
great intensity. We at Gallaudet aspire to that level of
consistent effort. Mary Washington makes it difficult to
score, they are well coached, a fine program, and an NCAA
tournament team."
Gallaudet returns home Wednesday night, when they face Salisbury at 6 pm
in the Field House.
