ARLINGTON, VA--Marymount opened with a quick
start, taking a nine-point lead in the first four minutes of the
game. The Saints eventually led at the half 39-29.
Marymount came out in the second half and held the
Bison scoreless for the first five-plus minutes and allowed only
four points in the first 10 minutes. The Saints were able to
capitalize on the 28 Bison turnovers.
Kathryn Wilson led all scorers with 18 points,
while Terell White added 11 points. Kacee Grogan had a
game-high nine rebounds along with four points, four assists, two
steals and a block. Stephanie Witko finished with eight
points and eight rebounds.
Pia Marie Paulone and Brittainy Payne each had 13
points for Gallaudet, with Payne adding nine rebounds. Both
players, along with Tamijo Foronda are in the top 20 of the Capital
Athletic Conference scoring ranks. Foronda is at #10, with 11.3
points-per-game, while Payne is 16th (#2 among CAC freshmen) at
9.2, and Paulone is 20th with 8.7. On the other side of the ball,
Payne moved up to the #5 spot overall for rebounding, with a 7.3
average; senior Jessica Salisbury is at #7 with 7.0 boards per
game.
Gallaudet (seed #8) travels to the University of
Mary Washington (seed #1) on Tuesday, February 20 for the first
round of the CAC Tournament. The ball goes up in Fredericksburg, VA
at 7:00 p.m.
