LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference announced its student-athlete of the week awards and Gallaudet University first-year libero
Tori Harris (Stockbridge, Ga.) was named the Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 6.
Harris anchored the Bison defense with 40 digs across three matches (13.3 digs per match) at the Elmira College Quad Match, where GU went a perfect 3-0. She highlighted her collegiate debut weekend with a match-high 20 digs in a five-set victory over Geneva and added 11 digs in a straight-set win over host Elmira. Harris also made an impact from the service line, as she recorded nine aces across Gallaudet's three victories and passed out 10 assists.
Penn State Harrisburg senior outside hitter Brianna Ondishin Ribon was selected as the United East Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after she compiled 60 kills, 44 digs, seven service aces and three double-doubles to pace the Lions, who defeated No. 16 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in four sets and SUNY Cortland in five.
GU HONORS
This is Gallaudet's first United East Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season and the first United East weekly honor of Harris' collegiate career.
