Gallaudet's Cam Lexow nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS – Gallaudet University senior Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.), a member of the 2024-25 Bison women's basketball program, is one of many nominees for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Established in 1991, the award recognizes female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in their community, in athletics and in academics throughout their college careers.

Lexow is Gallaudet's sixth NCAA Woman of the Year nominee as she joins Hannah Wetzel (2024), Lexi Hill (2023), Emelia Beldon (2022), Hannah Neild (2019) and Elena Ciccarelli (2015).

Lexow was a two-year letterwinner on the women's basketball team where she led the team to the 2024-25 United East conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III championship first round for the first time since 2011. She graduated from the University of Virginia during her undergraduate years where she was a women's soccer student-athlete for three seasons (2019-21). Lexow earned 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Division III Women's Basketball Second Team honors and was a finalist for the 2024-25 Jostens Trophy, awarded to the outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball players who excel on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

The graduate student is a psychology major and completed her GU women's basketball career with 813 points, 309 rebounds, 205 assists, 173 steals and 99 blocks in 56 games (54 starts) in two seasons. Lexow earned 2024-25 D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team honors and earned a spot on the All-ECAC Second Team and played in the 2025 WBCA Division III Senior All-Star Game. Lexow was named the 2024-25 United East Defensive Player of the Year and is a two-time all-conference first team honoree.

Next, conferences will select nominees from the pool of school nominees. Then, the Woman of the Year selection committee, made up of representatives from the NCAA membership, will choose the Top 30 honorees — 10 from each division.

The selection committee will determine the top three honorees in each division from the Top 30 and announce the nine finalists in November. From those nine finalists, the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics then will choose the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year.

The Top 30 honorees will be celebrated and the Woman of the Year will be named at the NCAA Convention. The 2026 Convention will take place in January in Washington, D.C..
